Golden Barrel

I first encountered the Golden Barrel Cactus at Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Its appearance, with yellow-shining spines resembling a child holding onto them, left a deep impression on me. At that time, I was facing difficulties with my residency permit and needed to reapply. Feeling overwhelmed, I wanted to paint a challenging scene. The Golden Barrel Cactus was a grateful subject that helped me escape from reality and explore new artistic possibilities.
