Here is Gaia, wounded and disfigured(?), missing a breast, and yet she is no less the goddess she was born to be. Gaia represents the body of the world, and her missing breast represents the damage we've done to the Earth. The flora and fauna growing on her body are all native Alabama species. Created from fiber clay, fired and unfired pigments.
